Membership renewal is required each season to remain an active member of Warriewood Surf Life Saving Club, ensuring you can continue to take part in Nippers, patrols, training and all club activities.
There’s some great news for Skills Maintenance (proficiencies) this season – here’s what you need to know.
This year, active patrolling members will complete both dry and wet Skills Maintenance components. The dry component focuses on a theory-based practical session for lifesaving CPR, with sessions available on Wednesday and Thursday evenings over the coming months.
An eLearning module must be completed prior to attending your face-to-face session (see further details below). A signals refresher will also be included as part of this session.
The wet component has been streamlined to a Run / Swim / Rescue, to be completed in 3 minutes 30 seconds. This involves a 100m run, followed by a 100m swim with a rescue tube to a patient. Once the patient is secured, timing stops, and you will then return the patient to shore.
This is the only wet component required for Skills Maintenance for the 2025/26 season.
Your Lifesaving and Education teams are currently scheduling sessions to ensure members can complete their proficiency early and head into the season ready to patrol. See the Club Calendar for dates.
