Gold Medallion

The Gold Medallion course provides participants with advanced skills and knowledge to manage complex emergency situations, including operating autonomously in high-pressure surf rescue environments.

Course Requirements

To undertake this course, candidates must:

Be at least 17 years of age on the date of final assessment
Hold a current Bronze Medallion / Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue)
Hold a current Advanced Resuscitation Certificate
Hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate
Hold a current Silver Medallion – Patrol Captain
Hold a current Spinal Management Certificate
Complete an 800 metre swim in 14 minutes or less in a swimming pool of at least 25 metres

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded the SLSA Gold Medallion.
