Silver Medallion – Patrol Captain

The Silver Medallion Patrol Captain course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to confidently manage a beach and lead a patrol as a Surf Life Saving Patrol Captain.

Members who hold this award may perform the role of Patrol Captain. Proficiency in this award is renewed annually through SLS Skills Maintenance.

Course Requirements

To undertake this course, candidates must:

Be a current financial member of a Surf Life Saving club
Be at least 17 years of age
Hold a Bronze Medallion, or have previously held a Bronze Medallion and currently hold a patrolling award
Hold a current patrolling award
Have a minimum of 2 years of patrolling experience

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion, participants will be equipped with the skills to lead and manage a patrol, including coordinating team members and maintaining safety standards during patrol operations.
